Hey folks! I have a small revelation (unless I mentioned it somewhere else): this isn’t my first financial blog. Just a few months after finishing college I made a habit of publishing net worth reports much like I do on this blog now. Those original posts saw me hitting a lot of the first major net worth milestones of anyone on their path to financial independence.
Though the website itself is lost to time, I was able to find the files necessary to repost them here in all their glory, with some extra polish and graphs that I wasn’t doing at the time. I linked them on the net worth page, but here they are in all their glory:
2020
- May 2020 – $53,768.56
- June 2020 – $59,757.86
- July 2020 – $66,270.70
- August 2020 – $70,680.64
- September 2020 – $72,596.90
- October 2020 – $77,178.96
- November 2020 – $88,079.12
- December 2020 – $96,098.64
2021
- January 2021 – $98,340.94
- February 2021 – $106,883.85
- March 2021 – $120,120.91
- April 2021 – $133,183.69
- May 2021 – $139,168.24
- June 2021 – $145,293.47
- July 2021 – $153,189.77
- August 2021 – $160,111.78
- September 2021 – $156,963.31
- Q4 2021 – $188,903.78 (when I got lazy and pretended like I was going to post quarterly)
What happened in 2022? Well, I did get a little busier, but honestly the market going down all year made making the reports not nearly as fun, and I had pretty much stopped looking at my net worth as much, even though I was still contributing heavily. By 2023 I wasn’t even thinking about the old blog much anymore, and I think I’d probably already let the registration lapse by then.
Hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane, and I’m glad that all that work I did wasn’t completely for nothing! Thanks for reading!
